Food - Recipe - French Toast

Hi guys, work did not end well, I'm now unemployed and looking for work :( I made this last weekend to cheer my self up. I make a similar version without the sugar to have Bacon and spaghetti hoops as we do on Guide camp. I had about 5/6 pieces last summer at camp!!! 

This is perfect for a lazy weekend or valentines breakfast, which ever you feel is up to you, or even on a camping trip!

 French Toast

Cooking time 5 minutes 
Prep time10 minutes
Ready in 15 minutes 
Serves: 1


  • 2 Eggs
  • Pinch of Sugar
  • Splash of milk
  • Knob of Butter
  • 1 Slice of Bread - I use wholemeal bread (at camp we use what ever we have left over or white bread)
  • Fruit and maple syrup to serve


  • Small glass Casserole dish 
  • Whisk
  • Bread Knife 
  • Fork
  • Tongs 
  • Large Frying Pan


  1.  Break two eggs into a small glass casserole dish, add a pinch of sugar and a splash of milk and whisk till combined
  2. Cut your slice of bread in half and place in the egg mixture letting it soak up the egg. Flip the bread so it gets the egg mixture on both sides
  3. Heat a frying pan to a medium heat and add you butter, once it starts to foam add you bread using a fork and cook till golden brown on both sides.
  4. Repeat steps 2 & 3 with the other half of the bread. 
  5. Once both bits are cooked serve immediately with the fruit and maple syrup on top. 
  6. Any left over egg mixture can be used to make a sweet omelette or more French Toast.
