Christmas Spiced Porridge
This year I have had to learn how to make my food somewhat low carb but enjoying at the same time, so with the holidays in 3 days and the fact I'm still working to get my day started I make a festive change to my breakfast

Ingredients
- 40g of Porridge Oats
- 250ml of Semi - Skimmed Milk
- 1 pinch of Waitrose Christmas Spice Mix (or a mix of ground cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger)
Equipment
- 1 Cereal Bowl (Microwaveable)
- 1 Spoon
Method
- Place the oats and the milk into a microwavable bowl.
- Place in the microwave and cook the porridge for 1 minute on high (I have a 800 W Cat E)
- Take out of the microwave and Stir the porridge. Then microwave for a further 1 minute & 30 seconds
- Take out the porridge and stir
- Add the spices and stir into the porridge
- Enjoy

- Take out of the microwave and Stir the porridge. Then microwave for a further 1 minute & 30 seconds
- Take out the porridge and stir
- Add the spices and stir into the porridge
- Enjoy

For this dish I calculated that this had about 18 or 36.3g of carbs so for this, so for a Type 1 diabetic on a Short-Acting insulin Regime with 10g of carb to 1 unit of insulin this would require 2/3 or 4 units
