Canons Ashby
Last month I went to another National Trust property this time it was Canons Ashby, which is about an hour away from my parents
Canons Ashby
I like to visit National Trust properties during the year, spring is a good time to visit as well, as the plants start to flower and the weather warms up.
This time it was Canons Ashby, which is a Grade I listed Elizabethan manor house, which was saved by the National Trust in 1981 and is open to the general public as well as the local church.
Inside of the house is very nice and well explained with informative room guides that we're able to explain their room.
The Book Room
The Spenser's Room with the Elizabethan Wall Painting, depicting a biblical scene, some of the detail still can seen including a sign of a swan pub which is a supposed to be local pub called the "White Swan"
Two Spouted Tea Pot
Servants Hall
The outside estate was also very good, with the gardens and surrounding parkland, we able to go on one of the walks that is available, although we could not finish the walk into the medieval village of Canons Ashby as the gate to it was padlocked.
Magnolia
Crown Imperial

Shepherd Boy Statue to honour a shepherd that told of enemy forces coming in the English civil war
The local Church Canon Ashby priory - which dates back to medieval times when it was a large priory which was closed during Henry VIII time
The cafe food was good and reasonably priced for the three of us with drinks it came to £20
As normal I had a look in the gift shop, my mum bought herself a plant, so I slipped these into!
