Travel - Christmas at Upton House & Gardens
This weekend I went to visit a National Trust property to see the Christmas displays also to see my brothers family for a catch-up.
Christmas at Upton House & Gardens
I like to visit National Trust properties around this time of year and this is the second visit to Upton, we went in September when the end of summer was coming, so it was different to see it in winter instead of late summer into autumn. The house had a theme of 1920's and 1930's Christmas.
The kid's activities in the house were to count the number of trees, there were 8 in total, there were carol singers. I found the rooms had no theme, they were not really explained, expected they were of a 1920's/1930's theme. They had some small paper cards that explained some of it, but no house guide was given, just one of the property and gardens.

They had a Christmas craft/market on which was nice and had some nice products from local producers, we got a couple of things including these lovely wooden angels from Burcote Wood Turning and some cheese from Fowler's Forest Diary - Cheese Makers
The gardens were not really festive, and looked pretty dead, which is pretty much you expected from the winter, although walking around them was nice.
The restaurant had some good meals for lunch which was nice, although the kid's meals could have had wholemeal bread as an option
I hope that it improves, as the season goes on
